Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky dismissed the Russian President Vladimir Putin's offer for a three-day ceasefire from May 7 to 9, calling it 'theatrical production'.
"And then blame us," he warned. Parallel attacks have been reported with drones on both sides of the conflict, amid uncertainty about the actions Russia might take during this period.
The Kharkiv regional prosecutor's office stated that Russia used attack drones with thermobaric warheads, weapons that cause widespread destruction and numerous civilian casualties during the attack. The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) also carried out a massive attack in southern Russia, according to Russian authorities.
Zelensky expressed his concern for the safety of world leaders planning to attend the May 9 parade in Moscow. He emphasized the need for a ceasefire of at least 30 days, arguing that shorter periods are insufficient to achieve substantive agreements.
At a press conference, Zelensky expressed skepticism regarding Putin's proposal: "The simple question is that they kill you until day 7, then they make two or three comfortable days for themselves, and then on day 11 they attack us again with missiles."
The attacks focused on various regions in Ukraine and Russia, with an increase in the number of casualties in Kharkiv, including two children. The destruction of Ukrainian vessels in the Black Sea and the interception of missiles were reported.
In Novorossiysk, Russia declared a state of emergency following a drone attack. Meanwhile, Ukraine also suffered a massive attack from Russian drones.
