Kyiv/Moscow, Reuters - Authorities in Odesa, southern Ukraine, said on Wednesday that Russia had launched a drone attack on the region overnight, causing damage to residential buildings and infrastructure and injuring four people, including three children. The Operational Headquarters, a regional body responsible for emergencies, said in the Telegram messaging app that the attack damaged equipment at an oil refinery, a port pier, and five houses. In turn, the Operational Headquarters of Russia's Krasnodar region said on Wednesday that a Ukrainian drone attack injured two people and caused a fire at an oil refinery in Tuapse that was quickly extinguished. 'Drones targeted our residential, logistics, and energy infrastructure,' Odesa regional governor Oleh Kiper wrote on Telegram. Odesa, a major port on the Black Sea, has been subject to repeated Russian missile and drone attacks during the nearly four-year war, with the strikes repeatedly targeting the energy and transport sectors as well as port infrastructure and residential areas. Tuapse is in Russia's Krasnodar region in southwest Russia on the Black Sea, about 350 km from the nearest parts of mainland Ukraine on the opposite side of the Azov Sea.
