Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Tuesday that the situation in the besieged city of Pokrovsk remains difficult. According to him, heavy fighting continues in the city, and the civilian population is experiencing an acute shortage of food, medicine, and drinking water. Zelensky emphasized that Ukrainian forces are making every effort to ensure the safety of residents and organize humanitarian corridors for evacuation. He also added that the international community must provide additional assistance to Ukraine to overcome the humanitarian catastrophe in the region. "We will not leave our people in trouble," the president stated. "Our task is to protect every civilian."
