Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko reported that Russia has attacked Ukraine's energy facilities 1,200 times since the start of the war in 2022.

The Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine, Yulia Svitlychna, stated that Russia has attacked Ukrainian energy infrastructure 1,200 times since the beginning of the war in 2022.

During her speech at Cyberforum 2022, Svitlychna reported that incidents of attacks on energy facilities in Ukraine have sharply increased in recent months. She noted that Russia uses cyber operations as one of the tools of hybrid warfare against Ukraine.

"We are observing serious attacks on energy infrastructure. Energy has long been a priority target for attacks in various formats. In recent months, the number of cyber attacks on energy has grown significantly. We recorded about 1,200 attacks on electrical energy facilities since the start of the new war," the Vice Prime Minister noted.

She also emphasized that to protect the country's critical infrastructure, it is necessary to strengthen cyber defense and implement innovations.
