The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky announced on Tuesday the postponement of his visit to Saudi Arabia, which was supposed to take place in the middle of the week. The reason for the postponement was the permission for additional consultations to be held within the country.
Zelensky's statement was published on his Twitter, where he noted that the decision to postpone the visit was made due to the increase in COVID-19 cases in Ukraine.
"Due to the sharp increase in the number of COVID-19 cases in Ukraine and in connection with the measures we have taken regarding the preparedness, I have postponed my trip to Saudi Arabia for an indefinite period," Zelensky wrote on Twitter.
He also added that the decision to postpone the visit is related to the need to conduct additional consultations on the sanitary-epidemiological situation in Ukraine.
