Donald Trump stated on Saturday that he is trying to get the money allocated by the U.S. to help Ukraine since the start of the war in February 2022.
The former U.S. president said he does not want American taxpayers' money to be used for the Ukrainian army. Trump mentioned that it would be better if Washington sent financial aid to Kyiv.
"I am trying to get the money back. I do not want it to go to Russian rockets. Instead, I want it to come back to me. If you do something bad, I will get the money back," Trump said, not specifying what amount the speech refers to or how he intends to make this happen.
The White House declined to comment on Trump's statements.
