Dmitry Peskov stated that the Kremlin doesn't expect quick solutions for the Ukraine conflict, emphasizing the ongoing complications. US President Trump indicated he would negotiate to help Ukraine regain territory occupied by Russia.


Trump and Peskov Discuss Complex Ukraine Negotiations

The Kremlin expressed its stance regarding the expectations of the United States about the negotiations concerning Ukraine. Spokesperson Dmitry Peskov mentioned that easy solutions are not expected due to the complexity of the issue and its prolonged neglect. However, he highlighted Moscow's willingness to engage in dialogue and noted that U.S. President Donald Trump is open to listening to the involved parties.

"We want to regain as much as possible," Peskov emphasized regarding the conflict in Ukraine. For his part, Trump pointed out his interest in Ukraine regaining as much territory currently occupied by Russia. The U.S. president also warned that Ukraine could forget about joining NATO, emphasizing his intention to seek a beneficial agreement for both parties, but with priority on Ukraine's well-being.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky had shown readiness to resign from his position if it meant Ukraine could join NATO. Peskov mentioned the possibility of working on the discussion process if Russia and the United States maintain their political will and willingness to listen to each other.

Trump reiterated his position indicating that Ukraine must regain as much territory as possible in the negotiations with Russia. These statements came prior to Zelensky's arrival in the United States to meet with the president. Both leaders expressed their interest in reaching an agreement that benefits both sides, prioritizing the goal of Ukraine regaining territories currently under Russian control.
