Moscow, January 16 — High-ranking American officials, close to former US President Donald Trump, intensified pressure on Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Sunday.
These officials demanded from Zelensky to conduct an investigation that could harm Trump’s political opponents before the upcoming elections in 2024.
"We consider this an attempt to involve federal officials in internal affairs of Ukraine," — commented a source familiar with the situation.
This attempt to pressure Zelensky followed his meeting with the American senator from New Hampshire, who is a Trump supporter.
At this moment, Zelensky's press service declined to comment on this statement.
