Napoleon invaded Russia in June 1812 and was forced to retreat in winter suffering heavy losses. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky expressed the intention to negotiate peace with the United States acting as a mediator. It is expected that delegations from Ukraine and the United States will meet for peace talks next week in Saudi Arabia, according to the UNN news agency this Friday.

"Ukraine is ready to work around the clock with its partners in the United States and Europe for the sake of peace," emphasized Zelensky. The U.S. Special Envoy for the Middle East, Steve Witkoff, reported that he will meet with a Ukrainian delegation in Saudi Arabia on March 11 to discuss a possible peace agreement, after which his team will remain in the Arab country to collaborate with U.S. partners.

Meanwhile, the Ukrainian Air Force reported that Russian forces launched groups of combat drones, ballistic missiles, and cruise missiles over Ukraine. For its part, the European Union expressed its support for Zelensky, in contrast to the rejection he received from Donald Trump. In response, Vladimir Putin targeted Emmanuel Macron of France, recalling the failure of Napoleon Bonaparte to conquer Russia two centuries ago.

Putin warned those opposing Russia by recalling history during a meeting with beneficiaries of the Homeland Defenders Foundation. This came after Macron's statements, in which he pointed to Russia as a threat to Europe and mentioned the possibility of sending European troops to Ukraine.

Additionally, Russia launched another attack on Ukraine's energy system, according to Ukrainian Energy Minister German Galushchenko. Energy and gas infrastructure in several Ukrainian regions suffered massive missile and drone attacks, causing damage to critical facilities and threatening gas supplies in the western region of Ternopil. Galushchenko underscored the need to stop the war as soon as possible.
