Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has experienced a rise in his approval rating amid increasing tensions with the United States Administration. This is evident from a survey conducted by the International Sociology Institute of Kyiv (IISK) whose results were recently published. According to the survey, Zelensky's approval rating has reached 68 percent in early March, up from 57 percent the previous month. At the same time, his disapproval rating has dropped from 37 to 27 percent.
Anton Hrushetsky, executive director of IISK, commented on the survey results, noting that Ukrainians are responding favorably to the rhetoric of the new U.S. government. The increase in Zelensky's approval comes at a time of rising tensions with the White House. The meeting between Zelensky and U.S. President Donald Trump, along with his Vice President JD Vance, at the White House on February 28 concluded with a heated exchange that led to the cancellation of a scheduled press conference and a bilateral agreement on raw materials.
These events have created a climate of uncertainty in Ukraine-U.S. relations. Nevertheless, internal support for Zelensky seems to be strengthening, according to the IISK survey. Ukrainian citizens positively assess their president's performance in this context of international tensions.
