President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky called for the imposition of sanctions yesterday, on Saturday. This initiative is aimed at responding to the threat he called a hybrid war, and the escalating situation in various hot spots around the world.
"Adequate response measures from the international community in the form of new sanctions are needed," Zelensky stated, not specifying to whom the limitations should be imposed. "We all understand that a hybrid war is a threat to many countries, not just Ukraine," he added.
According to Zelensky's words, many countries have already expressed support for Ukraine's side in the necessity of adopting new measures against those who violate international peace and principles of international law.
