The head of the Ukrainian army, Oleksandr Syrskyi, stated on Monday that the armed forces fighting in the Russian region of Kursk are not facing encirclement.

"We fully control the situation in this area, and our troops are not in a position of encirclement," said Syrskyi.

He noted that the military continues to carry out tasks in accordance with the plan and successfully resist the opponent.

Syrskyi also emphasized that the Ukrainian army is ready for various scenarios of developments of events and is capable of ensuring the safety of civilians in the combat zone.
