The Ukrainian government announced on Friday that it has begun forming a team to determine methods of controlling possible cessation of hostilities on the part of Russia. The team has been tasked with developing a plan for resolving the conflict in the Donbas region.
As part of the new initiative, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine plans to create a group of experts from various fields, aimed at ensuring the observance of the ceasefire. This team will focus on analyzing and developing measures aimed at strengthening control over the compliance with the conditions for the cessation of hostilities.
*"We hope that this initiative will help us achieve a lasting ceasefire in the territory of Donbas and create conditions for further progress in the process of regulating the conflict,"* said the representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Representatives of social services, experts in international law, and scholars in the field of conflict will be involved in this new initiative to ensure broad and competent coverage of the issues of control and monitoring the violations of the ceasefire.
This decision is an attempt at the regional level to strengthen efforts aimed at achieving peace and stability in the region, as well as to lead to renewed negotiations on the regulation of the conflict in Donbas.
