On Saturday, U.S. Secretary of State Mike Rublio and his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov discussed by phone the "next steps" in the negotiation for the cessation of the war in Ukraine. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the USA reported this.
The discussion focused on measures to secure the cessation of the conflict in eastern Ukraine, including the implementation of the Minsk Agreement and other actions aimed at achieving peacekeeping resolution of the crisis. In addition, the ministers exchanged views on current international political issues.
"Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to the territorial integrity of Ukraine and discussed the importance of continuing constructive dialogue to resolve the situation in the region," - it was stated in the release of the U.S. Department of State.
