Temporary Ceasefire Agreement Reached

President of Russia Vladimir Putin agreed to a temporary halt of attacks on Ukrainian energy facilities; however, he refused to support a full ceasefire for 30 days, which is significantly different from the initiative of U.S. President Donald Trump as the first step toward a permanent peace.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky agreed to the U.S. proposal for a 30-day ceasefire before calling Putin and Trump and subsequently supported a limited halt of hostilities.

Russia and Ukraine accused each other this morning of aerial attacks, which led to fires and damage to infrastructure shortly after President Vladimir Putin agreed to a limited cessation of hostilities during the course of Russia's war against Ukraine.
