Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced on Friday the resignation of his chief of staff, Andriy Yermak, after investigators searched the home of the influential official as part of a high-profile corruption probe.
"Today, I decided to accept Andriy Yermak's resignation from his post as Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine," Zelenskyy stated.
He explained that this decision was made to preserve public trust in the government, following an investigation that revealed "there are problems within the system."
