Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has once again reaffirmed his categorical refusal to cede any territory, defying American pressure to make painful concessions to Russia and continuing to rally more European support for his country. In an interview with journalists via WhatsApp on Monday evening, Zelenskyy said: 'There is no doubt that Russia insists on our ceding territory.' According to him, according to Ukrainian law, our constitution, international law, and frankly, we also have no moral right to cede territory. 'We, very clearly, do not want to give up anything,' he added. 'This is what we are fighting for.' In an interview with Politico published on Tuesday, U.S. President Donald Trump again pressured Zelenskyy to accept the U.S. proposal for Ukraine to cede territory to Russia, arguing that Moscow holds the 'upper hand' in its war that has lasted for nearly four years, and that Zelenskyy's government should 'agree.' The Vatican stated that the Pope 'emphasized the need to continue dialogue and expressed his fervent hope that current diplomatic initiatives will achieve a just and lasting peace.' The Pope met with Zelenskyy at Castel Gandolfo, the papal residence outside Rome, and also with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni. The Holy See has sought to remain neutral in the war, offering solidarity and assistance to what it calls the 'martyred' people of Ukraine.
