US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin Visits Ukraine

U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin visited Ukraine today, on Monday, to express solidarity with Kyiv. During his visit, he met with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, and Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov.

During talks, Lloyd Austin emphasized that the United States continues to support Ukraine in its aspirations for security and sovereignty. He also discussed issues of military cooperation and assistance that the U.S. can provide to Ukraine.

"We are proud to be your partner and friend," Austin commented during the meeting with the Ukrainian leadership.

Along with this, the parties discussed the situation regarding the escalation in Ukraine, which is experiencing tension due to the conflict with separatists supported by Russia. Lloyd Austin expressed support for Ukraine's territorial integrity and underscored the importance of ending the fire in the region.

The visit of U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin is called to strengthen relations between the U.S. and Ukraine in the area of security and defense, as well as to promote support from the American administration in resolving the conflict in eastern Ukraine.
