Trump Promises to End War if Elected

Former President of the USA, Donald Trump, once again expressed confidence that he will be able to end the war, addressing the public in the following manner: "We will continue to be in this war until I am no longer president." These remarks by Trump repeated his statements from the day before in Pennsylvania, where he claimed that Zelensky "really wants the Democrats to win these elections," and added that "the first thing I will do if I am elected is to call Zelensky and President of Russia Vladimir Putin to tell them: ‘You need to make a deal... It's nonsense.’"

Trump made these remarks after Zelensky stated to The New Yorker that "Trump truly does not know how to stop the war, even if he believes he knows," while describing Vice President Trump, Senator Jay D. Vance (Republican from Ohio), as "extraordinarily radical."

In June, Trump described the Ukrainian president as "the greatest political extortionist in the world" in response to Ukraine's request for additional American financing. In a video posted on Instagram, the selected President of the USA, Donald Trump, stressed his father's obligation to provide aid to Kyiv.

In September of last year, Trump criticized Zelensky and again praised his ability to end the war in response to Zelensky's latest critical remarks about him. He also expressed skepticism about Ukraine's ability to win the war and praised Russia's military capabilities, saying: "They defeated Hitler, they defeated Napoleon, and here they are now doing... fighting."
