Kremlin Responds to US Arms Decision for Ukraine

The Kremlin stated on Monday that the decision by the USA to allow Ukraine to use American weapons "does not contribute to the resolution of the conflict" in the region. The statement followed after Ukraine announced the receipt of a batch of American Javelin missiles.

In turn, Kyiv emphasized that this weapon helps maintain stability in the region and is necessary to defend against Russian aggression. "These systems will be used exclusively for defense and will not have an offensive character," said the press secretary of the President of Ukraine.

The supply of Javelin missiles is aimed at strengthening the defense positions of the Ukrainian armed forces in conditions when the activity of militants in the Donbas is increasing. "The military assistance from allies, American weapons, will positively impact the defensive capacity of the country," the representative of the Ukrainian president added.
