Last night, Russia attacked Ukraine with ballistic missiles and drones, causing a series of explosions in several regions of the country, including three districts in the capital, Kyiv. In the Obolón district of Kyiv, two office buildings were hit, resulting in one death and four injuries, according to the Emergency Service of Ukraine. Fortunately, no fatalities were reported in other affected areas.
"The bed was shaking back and forth and there was an alarm, then the explosions began. There were three detonations," described a witness. Numerous buildings and a school suffered damage, while the Ukrainian Air Force managed to intercept six missiles and 71 drones, jamming the signal of 40 additional drones. The Russian drone and missile attacks caused devastation in eleven regions, impacting civilian infrastructure and generating a climate of terror among the population.
"I even felt the explosions in my apartment; the bed was moving and my dog started barking. My boss called to tell me that our dry cleaner had been bombed," said Hryhorii Danylovych, a 64-year-old worker whose workplace was destroyed. Additionally, the city of Kryvyi Rih was also targeted in the attacks, requiring emergency services to assist those affected and deal with the aftermath.
The Russian Ministry of Defense released images of its artillery units using howitzers and Grad multiple rocket systems to strike positions in Ukraine, causing significant damage to residential buildings, offices, and other civilian infrastructure. The situation remains critical, and authorities are working hard to assess the damage and provide assistance to the population affected by this wave of violence.
