The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, plans to meet on Monday in Saudi Arabia with the Crown Prince of this country, Mohammed bin Salman. This bilateral meeting will take place before the meeting of a high-level Ukrainian delegation with representatives of the US administration on Tuesday in the Saudi city of Jeddah.
"Tomorrow (on Monday) we will continue working on the approaches to peace, with my visit to Saudi Arabia," said Zelensky in his address to the nation on Sunday evening.
The President of Ukraine added that on Sunday he worked on the preparation of the meeting of his team with the Americans in Saudi Arabia. "We hope for results both in the approach to peace and in the continuation of support (from the US side)," added the head of the Ukrainian state.
Zelensky announced in his statement that the composition of the Ukrainian delegation will include the Minister of Foreign Affairs Dmytro Kuleba, the Minister of Defense Rustem Umerov, the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak, and his deputy - military specialist Pavlo Palitsa.
The meeting will take place after Washington halted arms supplies and intelligence information to Ukraine in order to pressure Kyiv and force it to agree to negotiations with Russia on terms that the US wants to impose. It is also expected that a representative from the US administration will participate in the meeting, national security adviser Mike Sullivan and a special representative of President Donald Trump for the Middle East, Steven Vitkof.
