During today's visit to Kyiv, U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin announced a new military aid package for Ukraine totaling 400 million dollars. This decision was made as part of support for the country amid the ongoing escalation of the conflict in eastern Ukraine.
Austin also noted that the new funds will be directed towards supporting Ukrainian military personnel, combating corruption, strengthening democracy, and improving security in the region. At the end of his speech, the minister emphasized the commitment of the United States to support Ukraine and its sovereignty.
"We are proud to stand shoulder to shoulder with the Ukrainian people in this difficult time. We hope that the new assistance will help bolster Ukraine's defense capabilities and contribute to achieving peace and stability in the region," emphasized Lloyd Austin.
