The Russian state nuclear energy corporation Rosatom reported on a localized ceasefire in the area of the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant, which allowed the start of repair work on damaged energy infrastructure. Rosatom General Director Alexey Likhachev noted that the ceasefire came into effect at 07:00 local time (05:00 GMT) this Friday, paving the way for work to begin on the plant's external substation and the Ferosplavna-1 line. The facilities were damaged on February 10 in a suspected Ukrainian attack, and repairs are expected to take at least a week, Likhachev indicated. The operator of the Zaporizhzhia nuclear plant confirmed that the ceasefire was reached with the participation of the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Argentine Rafael Grossi, as reported by Xinhua and picked up by Agencia Noticias Argentinas. He added that electricity from the plant is supplied by the remaining Dniprovska power line and that the radiation situation remains normal.
