The 'unexpected' visit of the American actress, who also holds Cambodian nationality, turned into a 'drama' after a member of her entourage was 'unexpectedly recruited by the Ukrainian Army'. The incident occurred at a checkpoint in the Mykolaiv region, neighboring Kherson, according to a report by Politico. A video recorded by a surveillance camera is circulating on social media, showing Jolie apparently at a recruitment center. The Ukrainian Army Ground Forces Command stated that neither the actress nor her representatives influenced the work of the recruiters. It was previously reported that one of Jolie's drivers was taken to a recruitment center to verify his military registration status. The Ground Forces Command told the UNIAN agency that 'citizen P. is currently preparing for military service once mobilized'. The publication highlights that after the news was widely shared in the media and on social networks, the Ukrainian Army Ground Forces published a statement with details of the incident, stating that the person recruited was the actress's driver. In the opinion of the province's governor, Vladimir Saldo, the visit of the Hollywood star to the city was organized to divert attention from the collapse of the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the front.
