Ukrainian officials accuse Moscow of deliberately targeting energy infrastructure, causing power outages and leaving thousands without heating in much colder temperatures. Russia continues its attacks on Ukraine despite talks mediated by the U.S. aimed at ending the war, which has been ongoing for about four years. Kyiv - An electricity operator reported on Saturday that Russia launched a major attack on Ukraine's power grid, causing electricity to be cut off in a large part of the country. Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal stated that Kyiv requested emergency assistance from Poland after Moscow struck two power plants, Burshtynska and Dovbyvska, in western Ukraine.
