Ukrainian boxer Alexander Usyk (39) is approaching the end of his career, but the former heavyweight world champion is eyeing a more significant position — the country's presidency. He stated: 'I plan to box for two more years, and then I have plans to get into politics. I won't settle for anything less than the presidency.' According to a poll, if he were to run, Usyk would receive more support than the current president, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, and even the commander-in-chief of the armed forces, Kyrylo Budanov. The boxer secured 56% of public support. He was surpassed only by Valeriy Zaluzhniy, the current Ukrainian ambassador to the United States, who received 63%. Usyk will return to the ring on May 23 for a bout that is expected to be his last if he decides to retire from boxing.
